We all start each new year with good intentions and make resolutions that we genuinely intend to stick to but, if you're anything like me, you've probably fallen off the wagon already.
I planned to stop drinking so much red wine and ale, okay and eating chocolate, during the week but have already succumbed to a splendid bottle of Bordeaux that was supposed to be saved for a special occasion. Oops, time to reboot but as we're only on day two of 2013, I think that's fair enough. It can still be tricky, however, so an incentive is always useful and what better than realising how much money you could save? As luck would have it, help is at hand with this fun and handy app from Thomas Cook.
The app is geared towards those who are making an effort in the first week of January and beyond and it's very easy to use. All you need to do is fill in how much you indulge in your various vices each week and it quickly calculates how much money you could save in the process. The hardest part is being honest with yourself!
I had a go and found that I could save £550 over the course of three months, £1,100 over six months and a whopping £2,200 over a year. Please don't judge me on that.
All of these amounts could take me and my family away from the gloom to get some much-needed winter sun, so that's incentive enough for me. Plus sangria doesn't really count as alcohol does it?
You can find out how much you could save by following the link below.
