Review: Snugg Nexus 7 case

There must be some psychic PR folk out there  I've been meaning to get a case for my Google Nexus for a little while without ever getting round to it. I hadn't even dropped any 'subtle' hints on Twitter when a friendly email arrived in my inbox from The Snugg asking whether I'd be interested in receiving a free one to review. Brilliant! A few days later, the Snugg Nexus 7 Case arrived and is now keeping my new favourite gadget safe from the well-meaning but nonetheless dangerous clutches of Dylan and Xander.

The sturdy leather case fits the tablet perfectly, keeping it from slipping out with a well-placed Velcro tab, and there are cutouts for the camera, switches and ports, so there is no need to remove the case for anything. There's also a loop for holding a stylus if you have one and, if you don't, this tucks in so it's out of the way. I haven't tried dropping the tablet to put the case through its paces, but the boys have both grabbed it in the way that little ones do with anything and everything and it did its job as the Nexus remained unscathed.

Other handy features include two standing positions  one ideal for watching videos and the other for typing  thanks to the folding cover and a tab on the back of the case  very useful for checking Twitter or writing posts while feeding Xander with the other hand.

There's also an elasticated hand strap to help you keep hold of your tablet when standing  perfect for when I'm simultaneously trying to get him to sleep and keep myself awake. Now who says men can't multitask?! Coolest of all as far as I'm concerned is the automatic sleep/wake function that helps you get the most out of your battery. When you close the lid, your tablet automatically goes into standby mode.

All in all, it's a well-thought-out and manufactured cover and I'm now confident enough to actually take my tablet out of the house without fear of it being damaged in my bag. Two thumbs up from me and big thanks to The Snugg for providing the cover free of charge and asking me to review it!
